Electrical Controls Maintenance Technician Night Shift
The base rate for this position is $38.87 + $3.00 shift differential

The Industrial Maintenance Electrical Controls Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and improving electrical, automation, and mechanical systems throughout the manufacturing facility. This position supports production by minimizing equipment downtime through advanced diagnostics of PLC-controlled equipment, industrial electrical systems, robotics, motion control, and automated packaging equipment while maintaining compliance with all safety, GMP, and food safety standards.
What You Will Do
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems operating at 24VDC, 120VAC, and 480VAC
- Read, understand, and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, ladder logic, and control documentation
- Diagnose and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley/Rockwell PLC-controlled equipment, including monitoring logic and performing approved minor program modifications
- Troubleshoot and maintain FactoryTalk HMI systems
- Program, configure, troubleshoot, and replace Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
- Diagnose and repair motor control circuits, Motor Control Centers (MCCs), contactors, overloads, relays, and associated electrical components
- Troubleshoot Ethernet/IP industrial communication networks and connected automation devices
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair conveyors, packaging equipment, robotics, servo-driven equipment, and machine vision systems
- Perform mechanical maintenance including bearings, chains, sprockets, belts, gearboxes, conveyors, pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, and machine assemblies
- Install, wire, and commission new electrical equipment and automation components
- Complete preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities
- Utilize electrical diagnostic equipment including multimeters, clamp meters, insulation resistance testers, and other troubleshooting tools
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment history within the CMMS
- Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime
- Assist production during equipment startups and verify proper machine operation following repairs
- Follow all Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), GMP, food safety, and company safety policies
How You Will Make an Impact
- Experience troubleshooting industrial electrical and mechanical equipment
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and ladder logic
- Experience working with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell PLC systems
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a team and independently with minimal supervision
- Experience with robotics and automated packaging equipment
- Experience with servo motion systems
- Experience troubleshooting machine vision systems
- Experience working with Ethernet/IP industrial networks
- Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
What You Will Bring
- High school diploma or GED required
- Technical college degree or vocational training in PLC/Electrical technology preferred
- Minimum of 5 years working in an industrial environment in related capacity preferred
