Freshpet has recently arrived in Ennis, Texas, the site of our new kitchen. This modern facility features some of the most dedicated teams, innovative technology, and the commitment to environmental responsibility we need to prepare food for pets that is fresh, natural, and nutritionally balanced. Be part of our team, and make a positive impact for Pets, People, and the Planet.
When Freshpet was looking for a new kitchen location, what was on our wish list? Access to the best, freshest ingredients was a priority. As was proximity to Midwest and west coast markets. But to make our vision a reality, it had to be more than the right place. It had to be the right kind of partner. So we were thrilled to find that the leaders of Ennis, Texas were transforming this wonderful little community into a place focused on the future. The idea was simple: We would bring meaningful jobs and help Ennis thrive. And they would build it into a model of what a great small town could be. One with a down-to-earth feel, real career prospects, accessible healthcare, an excellent education system, and a high standard of living. We’re proud to call Ennis our newest home. We love the partnership we’ve built with our friends and neighbors, and we think you will, too.
Freshpet has a true partnership with the City of Ennis. We see our new location as a great example of a company and a city striving for a common goal. The people of Ennis have a progressive vision and can-do spirit, and by working together, we can accomplish just about anything. That means a lot because we have a lot of goals. We’re here to make a difference by donating to local pet rescues and shelters. And you’ll see us involved in many other types of community outreach programs that matter to us and to the future of the world we share.
To develop the best skilled workforce in Texas, we’re creating cooperative relationships with nearby technical colleges.
Together, we’re working to build a technical apprenticeship curriculum, offer English as a Second Language (ESL) courses, and provide rotational learning courses. Our partners include Navarro College and Texas State Technical College.
