For the love of location

Why We Chose Ennis

When Freshpet was looking for a new kitchen location, what was on our wish list? Access to the best, freshest ingredients was a priority. As was proximity to Midwest and west coast markets. But to make our vision a reality, it had to be more than the right place. It had to be the right kind of partner. So we were thrilled to find that the leaders of Ennis, Texas were transforming this wonderful little community into a place focused on the future. The idea was simple: We would bring meaningful jobs and help Ennis thrive. And they would build it into a model of what a great small town could be. One with a down-to-earth feel, real career prospects, accessible healthcare, an excellent education system, and a high standard of living. We’re proud to call Ennis our newest home. We love the partnership we’ve built with our friends and neighbors, and we think you will, too.

CONNECTIONS TO THE COMMUNITY

Partnerships, Volunteerism, Pet Shelters

Freshpet has a true partnership with the City of Ennis. We see our new location as a great example of a company and a city striving for a common goal. The people of Ennis have a progressive vision and can-do spirit, and by working together, we can accomplish just about anything. That means a lot because we have a lot of goals. We’re here to make a difference by donating to local pet rescues and shelters. And you’ll see us involved in many other types of community outreach programs that matter to us and to the future of the world we share.

Partnerships with Institutions of Higher Learning

To develop the best skilled workforce in Texas, we’re creating cooperative relationships with nearby technical colleges.

Together, we’re working to build a technical apprenticeship curriculum, offer English as a Second Language (ESL) courses, and provide rotational learning courses. Our partners include Navarro College and Texas State Technical College.

Ennis Puppy Park

Freshpet was more than happy to become a contributing sponsor and provide $10,000 worth of benches to this newly established setting were dogs can run, bark, and play with all-out abandon. And we're always looking for more ways to make tails wag.

Ennis Food Bank

When COVID came, some folks were hit pretty hard. So Freshpet made a $2,500 donation to the local food bank to help them when they needed it the most. After all, these are our new friends and neighbors.

Ennis Chamber of Commerce

Even before we opened our doors, we joined the local Chamber of Commerce in a show of partnership with the community. We're here for them with lots of new jobs coming on line. They're here for us with advice and assistance as we settle into this beautiful locale.
